Super Vova - Troja 2:1!

After unlucky cup game which we lost week ago 2:3 FC VOVA kicked asses of B division newcomers! Moskow scored fantastic goal(you can watch it here) to equalise and our all time topscorer Govorkov put winning goal at 88th minute while FC VOVA beat well balanced and sporting team.
Fans went crazy after and loads of 999 were destroyed after on Mother's day eve. Mother Vova showed class to fit kids, that football is not about sport, but about scoring goals!
Just because goal differnce we are not on top, but 4th place is big surprise even for our selves :)
Congratulation to lads. And wish them luck next week!
Oi!

After long and cold winter spring is coming to old continent. Not an exception for FC VOVA. All locals and migrants are coming back to a new start. Punkrockers preparing to kick off on a big stage for a 6th year. Already tomorrow FC VOVA will check condition of good old Hills Park Stadium which is oldest in Lithuania. Our competitor for friendly game will be Zybajazz Club which also considers same stadium as their home.
All winter FC VOVA participated in D.I.Y. 5-a-side cup which was organized by former FC VOVA player's team Stickers. All winter tables and results you can find in http://www.stickerscup.lt/.
Unfortunately new season we will start without our both old goalkeepers as Kasparas sold us to rivals Kiemas and Oleg a.k.a. Moscow still recovering from his major head injury. So we will try some new goalie on sunday. Also, one of the main supporter Za migrated to London at least for a half year. I myself month ago came back from sunny Brazil where got a Autonomos FC experience and now organizing North Circular Rockers football club where today we got first action in local north London's park. New FC VOVA London branch is looking forward to participate in North London punks picnic football tournament on 22nd of May.
This year we plan to visit St. Pauli on 14-16 of May and make a mixed unbeatable team with Republica girls from Leeds. After that we will do Italian Mondiali Antirazzisti where we will be back after one year brake. All summer trips we will end with tournament in Yorkshire where 4th year in a row we will try to win alternative world cup.
I'm back on track here as well and hope to keep all of you informed about FC VOVA life.
Cheers!

Who cares about English Premiership or other wankers proffesionals when deep in east Lithuania the Mighty Mighty Vova started to conqueror the Sunday League's table.
We started quiet weak, with hangovers instead of warm-ups. Opponents started aggressive - hitting a post and some more dangerous opportunities, but somehow the goddess of football was near in forest terraces, gave us a boost and punks started.
Moscow, who shared time in goal with our star Kasparas started to save balls by playing head while others moved and passed a ball. First one goes in when bomb-shape striker Govorkov well-fights against defender and Emo runs one-on-one and scores(the first one after a milion of such chances) Second, a RARE goal in FC VOVA history: after 3 IDEAL PASSES of vovans opponents keeper just watched ball going through his airs!
Third one, after long Moscow' pas Emo crosses to Dancer and he celebrates 2nd goal in this season. 3:0!
In second half FC VOVA still looks better than Žeimena, which maybe controls ball more than earlier, but solid defence clears all the danger from our box. And even B divisions top scorer can do nothing about that.
We have a lot of opportunities to make the difference bigger, but or mistakes or ref doesn't let us to do that. And football goddess punishes us then and Žeimena scores consolidation goal few minutes till full time.
If you count from the last spring game, FC VOVA wins 3rd time in a row against team which is upper than punks and leaves a lot of complains to forthcoming opponents.
Mega-huge thanks to all supporters who changed capital city in to a small town on far far 60km away game! Ole!
And of course to those who are hundreds, thousands miles away and reading these rubbish reports :)
From London with love, p.

Victory
Few hours ago Vilnius punks representing team restarted Sunday Football League. We played a team Kiemas who in English means “the Yard”(not the yard one we love from south west of England). This Yard we find a little bit rival cause we have some former their players, and exactly those ones who some of you met on the pitch near Gachingen.
We had 3 games before. Two last years and one this spring and we lost all of them with scores 0:2, 1:5, 1:2. Kiemas were 3rd and FC VOVA 6th after first 11 games of the season.
We started with Kasparas in goal and two best central defenders ever – Tcks and Dzioba what was a success to concede 0 goals. And we can mention that Kasparas got his rehabilitation after conceding 3 goals from Germany U-19 in last midweek game. With goal from youngster Sabalas and experienced chill’in midfielder from Gachingen fields in first half FC VOVA defended well in second and celebrated 5th victory which kept us in 6th place as 5th and 7th won as well.

FC VOVA

it all started in the year 2004. few punks posted message on lithuanian punk-hardcore page hardcore.lt calling for Sunday football, and after a crowd illegally gathered on the little pitch of the local christian school, that was it, the team was started. a lots of different people came to play football. boys, girls, lithuanians, russians, poles. climbing over the fences every time to get inside and playing together the best game in the world got everybody together. we would play few times a week for some time and then we had our first outer-city match versus a team of Kaunas punkrock scene. and we won 7-0! (and lost 1-8 playing later in Kaunas, but who remembers that anyway..). after a month or so went to TABUNS, the DIY open air fest in Latvia. we needed a name and names like „The Players“ or „No Logo“ or „FC Parquet“ were considered. but after all the discussion we came up with the idea that it might also sound nice, like all these bands going under the beautiful girl names like SHORA, NORA, BORA and somebody shouted „let‘s name it FC VOVA!“, referring to our goalkeeper of that time, who would let in a way too much balls, but was nice and funny nevertheless. so, it was done. we officially became FC VOVA. we though of something behind it as well, like „Vilnius Open Voting for Anarchy“ or smth alike, but then we just let it be. so, we went to TABUNS, made our way to quarterfinals which we lost to the winner of the tournament as we learned later. but anyway it was a success for us! so we went on!

although it was a bit hard to gather players together during summertime, but later on it was all right and so we went to another fest in Latvia, called ZABADAKS this time. we made out way from group there the first day, but due to a huge rain, tournament was moved to the next day. and the morning after made us champions, as we were the only team to show after yesterday parties because of some minor straightedge influence inside of the team. so finally we had our first international trophy! the experience of Latvian tournaments made us organize some too. we did it in 2005 and 2006 during DIY DAROM festivals in Lithuania. first time we made it to finals, winning in semifinals against our biggest rivals/friends from Kaunas “Tri Poloski”, but were defeated there 0:3. and second time we also made it to finals, but due to shut down of the festivals after some trouble with local mafia, we didn’t finish the tournament, as we went to fight the fuckers.

from spring 2005 there were rumors the amateur football league is about to appear in Vilnius, going by the name of SFL (Sunday Footbal League). we didn’t make our mind at first, but then later on we decided to join in. we held a benefit show, consisting of bands with our players involved ("Va Taip Vat", "Pendelis", "Toro Bravo", "Frekenbok", "dr.Green", "Sloppy Livin`" ) and got money for the participation fee. still it was not enough, so we found a sponsor – Eglė, the sister of our captain Paulius! she was so kind to us that she just donated some money we were short of, so we were (and still are!) really thankful for that and we showed our respect to her making stencils of her name on our play t-shirts. as it appeared alter it was right decision to join the league, bringing us even more friends and fans. now league expanded and started to make all the professional rules and demands, so sometimes it sucks and we begin to wonder if we should continue or we should try to set up some 100% DIY amateur league like our friends from Minsk did. but nevertheless we are still playing in SFL for now and still making our play better there every season.

during these years some people left, some people joined in, some made their way to the fan sector. which by the way is one of the best in Lithuania, including our professional teams! they would come to every match in 40-50 people and on the cup games there might be up to 200! now there three so called “firms” - KOSMOS, VOVERĖS and BB United. KOSMOS is a firm of newbie fans, who appeared on the sector after their friends became new FC VOVA players. VOVERĖS is a girls only firm, making their way in male dominated football. and the BB United is the oldest and still most active firms consisted of few ex-players and first fans.

after we grew a bit like a team and collective we made new contacts with likeminded people from all around and that is how we started to go to the international tournaments of all kinds – from the huge Mondialli Antirazzisti in Italy to little self made tournaments in Minsk. we’ve been to Latvia, Belorussia, Italy, Germany, Belgium, England, Sweden, Spain, Holland and even Brasil, making friends and fans all over the world! we are really grateful for everyone who helped us out to make our way to these places (cheers Easton!) and we hope to set up some tournament like that and host you all in the future!

our team is not only a sport formation. people coming to play or support us are from various cultures (we had Portugal, Turkish, Swedish and people from other places playing for us) and also from various social context, so we all go through social transformation, becoming more open minded and aware of things like racism or other forms of discrimination, appearing in football world and everyday life. we’re going by the love football – hate fascism slogan and that makes our position clear for all the nazis and such garbage. also the most beautiful thing is that the FC VOVA made closer people involved, made us know each other better, so we can trust the others and do a lots of different things together, connected to football or not. like the blood donation we’re about to have when we’ll back from Germany or this piece of paper, where we tried to do our best to say how we love that game and all the people involved in the DIY football world! ole!

Za' magic, two goals of Moscow and winner from Tučkus kept FC VOVA in top half of SFL B division table before summer break.

Few days before our 5th b-day FC VOVA played last game of the first round. We played team Viesulas who were still fighting for 3rd place of B division.
We started pretty good and were equal to opponents first 20 minutes. Our goalie who was out for two U19 international games against Azerbaijan was again in goal, so defenders were full of confidence and Moscow was happy playing as a forward and substituting Emo. After substitution in 21st minute, Moscow gets ball in a box, tries one time, then second and finally beats keeper! 1:0!
first goal by Oleg
FC VOVA attacks more and misses some more chances.. and after more 20 minutes bad times come. Viesulas equalizes in 41st minute and goes forward in 44th. But it's too easy task for us to comeback from one goal so we losing one more in 49th minute. 1:3.
Then we decide that it is enough for that and starting our scoring session. Firstly Za goes near opponents goal and starts to pray to some pagan gods. Haha. And it starts. Moscow scores again after a corner kick just after 3 minutes. 5 minutes later our new winter signing Vaidas scores great goal outside the box. It's egual! 3:3! And still 33 minutes to go. But we don't need so much time and just 13 minutes later after an indirect free-kick Tcks gets ball..

..turns around and kicks..

..and scores a beautiful one..

.. and celebrates it beautifully..

We defend our goal for 20 more minutes and celebrate a one more great victory! I can mention that when score was 3:3 Emo scored from out side the box, but ref said it didn't crossed the line. Anyway Tučkus sorted out everything by scoring on his girls first birthday :)
Now we are resting and collecting our squad to win a cup in Stuttgart. You'll see all our stars there.

peace.
paulius.

After a terrible start and 4 loses, Vilnius punks team FC VOVA didn't lose 4th game in a row and now going to top half in a SFL table!!! Punks went crazy(me as well) when FC VOVA won today 2:1. Two briliant goals from our top scorer Denis Govorkov. We let one in, but no more for our U19 international goalkeeper, who I believe will play for top Europe clubs so near! Ha!
Punk's not dead!!!

I was just arived from Brasil trip and still living atmosphere i found there. One my friend said "It will be journey of your life". Haha. It was! But now about a game.
We played against a good known team Ozo Tapyrai which was founded and early managed by Tcks some years ago. Our teams played 6 league games and lots of friendlies(if you can call so these wars). In 5 previous games FC VOVA lost only first time and won all 4 then.
This game was plaeyed after 1 and half years break, cause Tapyrai last season played in C division, but lucky to us they promoted again and last sunday B division "rivals" played again.
FC VOVA this season got a very strong and equal squad which consist about 20 players every game. So every one has a sub. So we try to play as fast as we can. Run and fight a lot. And increased number of yellow cards shows that we growing fast and becoming a hard team to play and to score. In other hand we still have loads of problems with strikers.
But in that game everything was vice versus when Dancer got a first pas from center midfielder and passed ball to opponents goalkeeper. Keeper was very kind person and was standing and watching ball crosing the goal line. 1st minute - 1:0 to FC VOVA!
Great start and Vovans goes forward again and again. But how I said early, strikers still can't score and first half ends with the same result as it was 1 minute after start. Second half Tapyrai wants to equalise and they does it. In 62nd minute after corner kick some of jungle animals fins the ball out of the box and shoots. From defender deflected ball goes straight to the goal. 1:1!
But it it's still not an end. 8 minutes left another great mistake from Tapyrai' goal keeper and two FC VOVA players in front of empy goal. 2:1 to FC VOVA! Goal scored by our Lithuania U19 international goal keeper who was replaced by Moscow in socond half.
Thanks to keeper to this crazy victory and FC VOVA improving their possition in league table. Cheers!
